The Context

⭕ This is the design I created for The Red Team Analysis Society article [🇫🇷 🇬🇧] titled :

“The Chinese Fishing Fleet, Influence and Hunger Wars”

In the current context of war, energy & food supremacy and water resources, the seas and oceans are a crucial and strategic stake for influencing global hegemony.

What will be China’s ?? intentions and next moves in that matter?

The Design

The ocean is transformed into a vast playing field, like an aquatic Monopoly, where the sea squares are marketable and inevitably lead the small Chinese ship to the most important objective : how to make water works in the future and how to benefit from it… fish, marine cultures, sea ore, desalination, geostrategic positioning and control of marine accesses.

After having positioned his pawns silently on almost the entire surface of the game, the Chinese Game Master is about to build an “hotel” with his colors on this crucial square in order to make anyone who passes through his territory to pay his due.

Because whoever controls Water controls Life. Will China win this Monopoly?

Summary of the Topic

🔻 Analysis of the immense Chinese fishing fleet and its incursions across a large part of the world’s seas.

🔻 Analysis of the potential Militarization of these fleets at a geostrategic level.

🔻 Reflection on large-scale Chinese maritime policy and how it plans to use the sea as a means of pressure on a global scale.

🔻 Taking into account the pollution factor in the evolution of the oceans and hypotheses on the concept of “Hunger Wars”.

The Context

⭕ This is the design I created for The Red Team Analysis Society article [🇫🇷 🇬🇧] titled :

“Arctic China: Towards New Oil Wars in a Warming Arctic?”

It concerns the oil war which is coming in the Arctic between China ?? and the USA ??.

The Design

The incarnation of the US/China discord is illustrated by a conflict between two rageful polar bears against a background of flags, soiled by corrosive pollution.

In a worldwide context of ongoing war, global warming and energy concerns, each side want to appear virtuous- hence the white ; yet strong and enforcing their respective national ideals- hence the bears.

Though, the stance of the bears fight enforce the idea of mutual destruction and questions the survival of any supposed winning bear within a soiled and/or disappearing arctic ecosystem.

Summary of the Topic

🔻 Global and holistic view of the situation history.

🔻 Categories of issues that have been overlooked, such as the shift of conflicts to new, previously inaccessible, areas of the globe.

🔻 Impact of global warming (poles ice melting) on the tactical and economic decisions of major nations.

The Context

⭕ This is the design I created for The Red Team Analysis Society article [🇬🇧 🇫🇷] titled :

“Global Apocalypse Now, the California Way”

It illustrates the First Part of the articles series related to the world fires spreading more and more frequently over the world, starting with a focus on the USA ??.

The Art Direction for the Second Part of this series can be found here.

The Design

The tsunami of flames advances, inexorable, towards homes; within the glowing smoke, the 4 horsemen of Dürer’s apocalypse are silhouetted

➡️ The 1st Horseman drops his balance on the mountain crest: the broken balance creates catastrophe (the past).

➡️ The 2nd Horseman brandishes his sword beyond the flames: the catastrophe causes destruction (the present).

➡️ The 3rd Horseman directs his bow towards the ash-filled night: catastrophe directs the direction we take (the future).

➡️ In Dürer’s engraving the 4th Horseman is originally in the foreground… and even if we don’t see it, in fact, it is already upon us: death.

The Context

“Adapting to the Burning World?”

It illustrates the Second Part of the articles series related to the world fires spreading more and more frequently over the world.

The Art Direction for the First Part of this series can be found here.

The Design

Planet Earth, ravaged by fires and global warming raise its dead trees as the crosses of the ecological graveyard that it has become.

Achieving to burn away in a last embers gleam, it leaves behind a plume of smoke in the starry sky, into which our hashtag#future could have been written.

These stars are fading away in a white void, into which our planet is plummeting. White which could have held the potentiality of all the things to be done in the future…but, in the end, which will stand only as the absence of all the things which have not been done in the past.

Summary of the Topic

🔻 Lack of historical and past data about such a range of events put in perspective.

🔻 Hypothesis about Life management of human societies in such conditions.

The Context

⭕ This is the design I created for The Red Team Analysis Society about the article [🇫🇷 🇬🇧] titled :

“Is the West Losing the Warming Arctic?”

It relates to the strategic struggle of the leading nations (China 🇨🇳, Europe 🇪🇺, Russia 🇷🇺, USA 🇺🇸) for the arctic in a global warming context.

The Design

?️‍?️ Choice of the Art Direction : The little turtles of Europe and USA are loitering around slowly, not really figuring where to go, within an ice underwater universe which eventually changes to water.

On the background, almost being part of this aquatic universe, the massive orcas of China and Russia are approaching dangerously, already dominating this new ecosystem.

Summary of the Topic

🔻 Arctic warming put in perspective and which strategic opportunities that new status is offering.

🔻 Analysis of the different means deployed by the different nations to ensure their supremacy in the polar zone.

🔻 Analysis of the choices decided by the various partakers and why the West seems to lose the advantage.
