The Context
⭕ This is the design I created for The Red Team Analysis Society article [🇬🇧 🇫🇷] titled :
“Climate Breakdown: Towards War to Reduce CO2 Emissions?”
While maximum temperatures on earth continue to break records, year after year, and extreme climatic events follow one another exponentially, the States of the Earth find themselves increasingly confronted with their inability to manage constructively and in coordination the inevitable Climate Change and its disastrous consequences.
This suggests a drastic solution, which had never been morally considered until now, but which could be the last possible resort: what if War was the only means of coercion to reduce CO2 emissions?
The Design
A stormy sky of war and pollution recedes into the distance, gradually clearing into a beautiful blue sky, announcing the purity of the rediscovered Air. The Earth is nothing more than a field of cartridge cases, stretching to the infinite, symbolizing a merciless War to spare Humanity an even worse fate : the Extinction of everything that lives.
A pink Periwinkle begins to bloom from one of these cases, symbol of Life reborn in the middle of this landscape of Death. Bright pink like sacrificed flesh or like Life resurrected? The Latin name for Periwinkle is Vinca Pervinca : a quote for a magic formula to vanquish…
…to vanquish your enemies and to vanquish the rigors of Weather. To vanquish blindness and to vanquish global warming.
What will be the highest price we are ready to pay to act? What will be the lesser cost we are ready to pay to not act?
Because it is no longer time to hope for a Future as radiant as the Past but simply, between two cataclysms, to choose the lesser one.
Summary of the Topic
🔺 Assessment of global warming in 2023.
🔺 Presentation of the concept of “Carbon Budget”.
🔺 Summary table of the projection of scenarios taking into account global warming for each State of the World.
🔺 Hypothesis of behavior of certain States which could consider War as a means of coercion to enforce the reduction of CO2 if their existence as a Nation would be threatened.
